The American Evaluation Association has various Topical Interest Groups (TIGs) including a Collaborative, Participatory & Empowerment Evaluation TIG and a Nonprofit and Foundation Evaluation TIG. From the TIG on Empowerment Evaluation, there is access to newsletters, book reviews and sites of interest on the topic.

Infinity Network

The Tulane University monitors the Infinity Network and its programs. The evaluation collects data that are summarized in quarterly reports. The Network has developed evaluation matrices that are used to measure efficiency and efficacy of a program's organizational structure, inputs, outputs, impact and outcomes. The matrices are available on-line with information regarding residential substance abuse treatment programs for pregnant and post-partum women and their children in New Orleans.

The National Network for Family Resiliency, an initiative of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, is an interactive network which provides leadership for acquisition, development and analysis of resources that foster family resiliency. The Network has an Evaluation Work that hosts a webpage. The webpage has abstracts of evaluation tools and a bibliography of evaluation resources. From the webpage the Interactive Program Evaluation Development Site can be accessed. This is an on-line evaluation workbook which is a 10-step model geared towards parenting evaluation that allows the user to work through the evaluation process. The framework has general application.

Free Resources for Methods in Program Evaluation and Social Research

The focus is on "how-to" do evaluation research and the methods used: surveys, focus groups, sampling, interviews, and other methods. Most of these links are to resources that can be read over the web or printed as pamphlets, etc. A few are for books that can be sent away for, for free (if you live in the US), as well as read over the web. The information may be used as handouts to the general public, clients or potential clients, students or anyone who wants some introduction to evaluation.

The Urban Institute

Formula Grants under the Violence Against Women Act is available from the Urban Institute's website both on-line and in a downloadable PDF format. The guidebook is a helpful resource which describes evaluation processes using victim services and support systems examples to illustrate points.
